TIPS, TRICKS AND FIDDLY BITS

Talking about inks, stamps and cleaning
The following is my personal opinion and not based on anything factual....some of my stamps are 15 years old and still working fine.
I have both Acrylic and Rubber stamps in my collection.
DYE INKS: I really like using dye inks with my stamps. They come in a variety of colours...deep rich and luscious to bright light and airy...love the look
CLEANING: Dye inks can leave a stain on your stamps, but with a little clean using stamp cleaner you shouldn't have any trouble, but you'll need to clean up straight after you've stamped.

PIGMENT INKS: Pigments can give me a more vibrant and intense colour when I want it. I especially like to use these inks when I'm embossing.
CLEANING: This is not a problem at all and can generally be achieved with a little water and occasionally using your stamp cleaner for a more thorough clean.
SOLVENT INKS: Staz On comes to mind here. I treat these ink the same as my dye ink...clean it up straight away and you shouldn't have a problem. Some people suggest you not use a solvent ink on your stamps....
CLEANING: Giving it a good and thorough clean with your StazOn cleaner will generally do the trick...mind you some staining may persist, depending on how diligent you are with your cleaning.
CHALK INKS: These are my latest favourite ink and they give a lovely matte finish, I'm using Versamagic at the moment and don't have a problem with cleaning them.
CLEANING: These inks can also leave a stain on your stamps. But I've found a good stamp cleaner works well...

PAINTS: yeap, I use paints as well...but remember less is more! I tend to use a sea sponge or dauber when using paint.
Using paints will give you some very interesting results and it makes you feel like an artist....give it a go
CLEANING: Be sure and clean your stamps with warm water immediately after stamping. Try not to let it dry (the paint that is).

Whatever medium you use...enjoy the process and have fun.....a well used stamp is a loved stamp! You should see some of mine.

I just love your work.. those cards are beautiful, as is the one you have as your title.

I wish I didn't live halfway around the world, I'd come to one of those workshops you have scheduled.

Rhonda, The info on the inks is great I always seem to "pick" the wrong one for the job at hand. Seems even the same with Embossers,I thought I had green embossing powder it was Distress Powder.(it didn't work ruined a card:(
For cleaning my stamps I use SU's Stamp Cleaning Kit the case opens and has black pads on either side and a spray bottle of cleaner. Look forward to your tips each day good job.
